X-Ray Results Everyone Wants to See
I shall try to keep this short, but when miracles happen it needs to be written. I have been in the horse industry since 1976. And I have witnessed many founders. And unfortunately none have ended well. I myself had the devastating news that due to a thyroid problem – my horse went into a full founder. When I saw the x- rays (pictured above) I saw that only .5 mm were left before the coffin bone came through the sole. I set up a euthanasia appointment, as I just could not do it that same day. Then I hit the internet to try and find something that may help. I came across the Cavallo Hoof Boots web page. I then called my local tack shop and they had the size I needed! Off I flew to the store! The horse was on heavy pain meds and anti-inflammatories and would not leave his stall, so when I got home and put the boots on, and then asked him to come out of his stall – HE WALKED OUT SOUND…my God, I fell to the floor and wept!
I iced his feet four times a day and he was able to be turned out in a small 20′ x 20′ pen to keep his body functions working properly and keep his state of mind positive. Founder involves so many aspects – but hoof support is huge. Except for the icing, he never had the boots off – and he would lift his feet to have me put them on.
So I would now like to thank Cavallo for their OUTSTANDING product. They never wore out, the stitching and velcro never failed – they are solid made!! Thank you for saving my horse. I shall be forever grateful. That was 2 years ago and because of these boots I have a sound, happy horse.

“In January 2018, after a 25-year hiatus, I unexpectedly returned to the horse world. To keep things short and sweet, I was intrigued by how much things had changed. Specifically, the holistic approach to horse care and going barefoot. After months of researching the topic, I decided that it was what I needed to do for the health of my horses. The farrier I was using was not able to help me accomplish my goal but, luckily, I was referred to one who was. I was told it could be up to one year before I’d see positive results. The great news is, I could see the positive results almost instantly. Of course, there were naysayers around the barn who gave me all the reasons why I should keep shoes on my horses, but I’m not one to follow the crowd. After researching several hoof boot companies, I made my choice to go with Cavallo because, not only is the information they provide top notch, the quality of their boots is the same. I recently took my mare down to our local lake with her Entry Level Cavallos. I was extremely happy with how well the boots performed. Not only did they provide protection from harsh rocks on the trail, they stayed on in deep sand and down a hill to get there. When I got her back to the trailer, I thought I’d have a big mess to clean up (especially with her excitedly pawing the water) but I was pleasantly impressed to find only a few small pebbles and a bit of sand. Angie Palmer – A Fight Against Laminitis
“I emailed you in 2017 to ask about hoof boots for my pony that had laminitis and you suggested the Trek boot. I thought I would tell you about the boots.
I ordered them and put them on him as soon as arrived so could turn him out on his paradise track. They were a godsend and he still wears them now! He would not have been able to be turned out if it wasn’t for them and the laminitis came back so been a long recovery. I never put him on box rest, I let him choose if he went out or stayed in and after getting boots, he never opted for staying in, lol! So, I would not hesitate to recommend to others how excellent and well made these boots are! They are fab for turnout and easy to put on and off, I take them off when he comes into stable on softer surface. They are still in very good condition and has worn for a year now, nearly every day! He’s got them on today as it’s -5 this morning and the ground is rock hard! Thanks again for your advice to buy!”
