The Cavallo Western Barrel/Endurance/Stock Saddle Pad is already shaped to your horse’s top line, allowing ample wither space. Memory foam ensures that pressure and weight are not continual, but yielding. Excellent for all sports requiring lateral flexion. The maximum defense against back pain, yet still thin to maintain “feel”. Fits lie a glove.
Firm poly fiber sheets have been inserted alongside the protective memory foam inserts – these poly fiber sheets create internal stability, which serves to further equalize the load in high performance sports. These panels produce an inner equilibrium that even in very active rider movement or saddle stress situations, will allow a more complete utilization of the horse’s scapula. THE PERFECT FIT between horse and rider.
Length: 28.5″ (72 cm)
Width: 34” (86 cm) tapering to 22” (56 cm)

Our Four-Density Solution, plus the performance enhancement (PE) panel, combined with fine finishing details including genuine leather butt joints, nylon bindings and aeration perforations, provides the Ultimate in Saddle Pads, benefiting both horse and rider!
Shock absorbent: it’s not shocking!
- Saves the backs of both horse and rider
- Promotes blood circulation (the slow release memory of the open cell foam creates a gentle massaging action on the horse’s muscle structure)
Improves saddle fit: Fit for Excellence!
- Contracts at pressure points, fills gaps
- Enhances the saddle gullet (protecting the spine)
- Cutback allows wither relief
- More comfort for a saddle which fits perfectly
- Allows one saddle to be used on multiple horses
- Compensates for the changing horses back (different levels of conditioning, natural development over the season and development over the horse’s lifetime)
Thin: Thin is important!
- 4 different material densities creates a thinner pad with greater shock absorption than a pad twice as thick
allows more room for free movement of the scapula (shoulder blade)
Reversible: Effective & Stylish
- New Zealand wool on one side, closed cell shock absorbing foam on the other
- Use either side against the horse; it’s your personal preference!
Patented Nitrex Closed-Cell Foam:Non-PVC foam that has low resilience and low penetration value, resulting in excellent shock absorption, insulation, cushioning and rebound (G-value energy return). Far superior to traditional foams.
- soft and lightweight
Open-Cell Memory Foam to enhance saddle fit:
- releases as the rider shifts weight to vary pressure and gently massage the muscles, promoting healthy circulation
- evenly distributes rider and saddle weight on the muscles
- contracts where the saddle is tight and remains full where the saddle has less contact.
New Zealand Merino Wool:100% Merino Wool carded and consolidated into a dense material. The resulting cloth is then heat-bonded to enhance dimensional stability, durability and abrasion resistance.
high directional stability to maintain shape
- wicks away moisture
- breathable and insulating
Connie Challice - A Barefoot Trimmer and a Winner!Connie Challice is an accomplished barefoot trimmer located in the Calgary, Alberta, area. She's a believer in natural hoof care and she walks the talk . All of her horses are barefoot, with exceptionally healthy hoofs. She enjoys the freedom of being barefoot & booted and she enjoys an active, equestrian lifestyle.
The Calgary Stampede was Calling...This July, Connie and her crew had a vital role to play at the Calgary Stampede. They were asked to provide teams of horses for the Stampede Parade. Their carriages toured national, provincial, and city politicians. They also had the honour of touring esteemed veterans in their wheelchair-accessible wagon. Connie, herself, drew the RCMP and First Nations dignitaries in their Vis-a-vis carriage.
Cavallo Roped in the Crowds! The Cavallo BFB and ELB Bling Hoof Boots recently roped in the parade crowds! Connie sent us a message after, telling us about how well the boots worked to keep the horses comfortable, safe and grounded on the slick asphalt during the parade: “We had a team of Suffolk Punch horses (Jack and Flame) driven at the 2019 Calgary Stampede parade. They are an older team, and Flame has a little arthritis - after pavement work, he can sometimes seem sore. This has changed with the Cavallo BFB Boots and Pads, he's able to do many miles and remains comfortable. We all are grateful for this. It makes so much sense to have a comfortable option that helps absorb the shock of the pavement. Luke, our 8-year-old Clydesdale, was wearing Cavallo BFB's under his feathers and they were absolutely amazing for the whole event; he was even comfortable on the crushed road gravel. Altogether, we provided 11 teams of horses for the parade this year. Almost all of the teams were either bare or booted and had no traction problems at all - even on the wet pavement!" -Connie
Because Cavallo LOVES a Challenge!By request, BFB was developed to meet the needs of carriage/driving, working and pleasure drafts, as well as those in need of a boot during periods of hoof rehabilitation. Producing a hoof boot that could support the weight and activity of animals weighing around a ton was no simple task for us! Technically advanced materials are selected to withstand intense weight and pressure in repetitive motion and be counted on to provide shock absorption and weight distribution.
Coming Soon - New Sizes of Cavallo BFB Draft Hoof Boots! At Cavallo, we're announcing another new development. Coming Soon - new Sizes of Cavallo BFB draft Hoof Boots! Currently in production are two new sizes to accommodate the Big Horse population. Sizes 7 and 9 will be added to Cavallo’s draft-size range of BFB (Big Foot Boots) and are expected to hit the U.S market in early 2020. All was going well until we stopped for lunch and “assumed” that all the horses would stay inside the fenced enclosure we were in. My Arabian mare Darlin had other ideas, since she is a smart and reliable trail horse knew where home was. Fortunately for her and my peace of mind the park is entirely fenced.
We looked of course, but I called the search off at 11:30 Sunday night planning on resuming the next day. My friend, who knows the park much better than I, thought long and hard about where she might be. She brought a horse for me and we were off. Needless to say Darlin was very happy to see us when we found her right where my friend thought she was going to be. Since home was to the southwest that is where we looked, Darlin was indeed going home.
Now to the part of the story that involves Cavallo boots. All Darlin had on was a halter (halter/bridle trail riding equipment), and her Cavallo boots. Yep, you guessed it, the boots were secure and protected Darlin’s feet throughout her/my ordeal. They were damp as well indicating that she had been in water some time during the night (drinking, I hope). I LOVE Cavallo boots.
