Connie Challice Cavallo BFB Hoof Boots Calgary Stampede Parade 2019

Connie Challice – A Barefoot Trimmer and a Winner!

Connie Challice is an accomplished barefoot trimmer located in the Calgary, Alberta, area.  She’s a believer in natural hoof care and she walks the talk .  All of her horses are barefoot, with exceptionally healthy hoofs.  She enjoys the freedom of being barefoot & booted and she enjoys an active, equestrian lifestyle.

The Calgary Stampede was Calling…

This July, Connie and her crew had a vital role to play at the Calgary Stampede.  They were asked to provide teams of horses for the Stampede Parade. Their carriages toured national, provincial, and city politicians.  They also had the honour of touring esteemed veterans in their wheelchair-accessible wagon. Connie, herself, drew the RCMP and First Nations dignitaries in their Vis-a-vis carriage.

Cavallo Roped in the Crowds!

Ready for the Calgary Stampede Parade in Cavallo BFB Hoof Boots! The Cavallo BFB and ELB Bling Hoof Boots recently roped in the parade crowds!  Connie sent us a message after, telling us about how well the boots worked to keep the horses comfortable, safe and grounded on the slick asphalt during the parade:

“We had a team of Suffolk Punch horses (Jack and Flame) driven at the 2019 Calgary Stampede parade. They are an older team, and Flame has a little arthritis – after pavement work, he can sometimes seem sore. This has changed with the Cavallo BFB Boots and Pads, he’s able to do many miles and remains comfortable. We all are grateful for this. It makes so much sense to have a comfortable option that helps absorb the shock of the pavement. Luke, our 8-year-old Clydesdale, was wearing Cavallo BFB’s under his feathers and they were absolutely amazing for the whole event; he was even comfortable on the crushed road gravel.

Altogether, we provided 11 teams of horses for the parade this year.  Almost all of the teams were either bare or booted and had no traction problems at all – even on the wet pavement!”

Because Cavallo LOVES a Challenge!

Connie Challice - Feathers and Cavallo BFB Hoof Boots

By request, BFB was developed to meet the needs of carriage/driving, working and pleasure drafts, as well as those in need of a boot during periods of hoof rehabilitation.  Producing a hoof boot that could support the weight and activity of animals weighing around a ton was no simple task for us!  Technically advanced materials are selected to withstand intense weight and pressure in repetitive motion and be counted on to provide shock absorption and weight distribution.

Coming Soon – New Sizes of Cavallo BFB Draft Hoof Boots!
