Bridge Crossings in Cavallos!

"We love this Park, close to home and they have several bridges to cross and tons of beautiful trails!

My horse, and the horse ahead of me were both wearing Cavallo Trek boots with Pastern Wraps. I am soooo happy with these boots!! First time this mare has gone barefoot in the 12 years I have owned her!! We crossed several bridges today with no problems. Love these boots!!"

Additional Protection for Yogi and his Thin Soles!

"I've owned the Trek Cavallo hoof boots for 2 years and they are the best.....I wear them over metal shoes as my horse is extremely thin soled and they have lasted 2 years of long tough trail riding. I've only just now had to buy a 2nd pair but the 1st pair can still be used as spares....so very impressed. My horse loves them and I can now ride him without him get stone bruising or nudging to the sides for softer ground.

I tell everyone I know about how awesome they are. I use them with the red gel cushion pads and the protection pads and your pastern wraps. My lil mini Sonic also wears the little glitter boots to make him comfortable when he has laminitis soreness.

Thanks again so much.

Happy Australian customer"

“ABOVE & BEYOND Customer Service

"I have to give a shout-out to Cavallo Hoof Boots for providing ABOVE & BEYOND customer service. They have worked with me for the past 2 months to make sure that Chase, my 18hh Clyde/TB cross, has a pair of front hoof boots that fit properly (he needed the Big Foot Boots in a size 9). I have to especially thank customer service rep Yvonne Welz who evaluated multiple photos and videos in an effort to determine the correct size for a horse with giant flat feet. Yvonne’s email replies were always prompt, supportive and kind, and believe me I sent her way too many emails!

This evening when I checked my inbox, I discovered that she is sending me a free pair of Pastern Wraps that will help improve the fit of the uppers of the boots. The sole size is perfect, but the tops of the boots are a little too big. The Pastern Wraps will correct that.

Thanks Cavallo & Yvonne for providing the kind of customer service that is sorely lacking in most places today, but that we all long for when dealing with businesses that offer products and services.
Great customer service should be a no-brainer. Doing it the right way is doing it the Cavallo way.”

"Pastern wraps are great!!"

"My horse wore his Trek boots and pastern wraps for a grand total of about 1.5 hours over five days as part of the break in process. Never rode anywhere except in a football field sized pasture and a round pen. On day 6, we went on a 10 mile trail ride. Not a single rub spot anywhere. Pastern wraps are great!!"

Cavallo hoof boots for arena riding and dressage training

Dressage horses can benefit from boots too!

"I had never thought about using boots on our dressage horses as I always thought they were more for trail riding.

We moved agistment and found that with my daughter Emily's pony Mistie, the sand was a bit more abrasive than what we were used to and 3 out of her 4 hooves were showing signs of cracks forming in the toes. The farrier was starting to talk about the need for shoes, but Mistie is 16 years old and never been shod, so we didn't really want to go down that path. We contacted Cavallo for advice and was recommended a full set of Trek boots with pastern wraps.

Mistie trains Medium level dressage, so we needed boots that would not affect her movement at all, but she moves and performs really well in her boots, with no change to her training at all. The pastern wraps are really good in the arena as they stop any sand that may get into the boots from rubbing. I'm now thinking of transitioning my dressage horse to barefoot and use boots on him when needed too, the result has been that good!

Thanks again for all of your help!"

"These boots have saved me THOUSANDS"

"Legit the best company to deal with. Best customer service you’re ever going to get.

Excellent product (used this brand years ago and didn’t know how to properly fit boots so I didn’t like them back then but WOW have things ever changed) I recommend the Cavallo TREK boots to all of my friends and anyone I know that shoes their horses and everyone is shocked at how incredible these boots are. We have gaited horses and they stay on!!!! If you have a horse with sensitive skin I highly recommend using the Pastern wraps under your boots so you don’t have to worry about rub marks. Some of my horses have to always have Pastern wraps on and some are great without “socks” size up a size for the wraps) also it’s nice to add the gel inserts if you ride on hard ground as they work great for shock absorption! if your horse has sensitive feet, do them a favour and order them some boots! Send foot measurements to the employee that works the Facebook page and they guarantee the fit!!! The trek hold up through any type of riding if the fit is right and they’re fastened properly (if you’re unsure if they look ok, ask Cavallo) I’ve tried the less expensive version of the boots and unfortunately have had a boot rip and Cavallo replaced them without making me feel bad for being a pain, they even covered the shipping. Honestly, where else can you find this kind of service?

I’ll keep recommending this product as I truly believe they’re the best, these boots have saves me THOUSANDS on what I would have spent on shoes. Nice to own your own rasp for minor hoof touch ups (ask your farrier for an old one) that way if your horse can’t get their foot into the boot you can touch up the small flare if need be."

Charlie Takes on the Back Country With His BFBs!

"I love camping and driving out on some pretty rough trails and gravel roads with my Canadian boy, Sunridge Laureat Charlemagne, aka Charlie. His hooves are tough but the terrain is tougher and he has had some issues with bruising. He's a big boy and the BFBs with BFB pastern wraps saved us on our last week long trip. They handled rocky river crossings, boggy ground, gravel roads and a very steep hill we shouldn't have driven up, plus the tight turn and steep drop back down without coming off or rubbing. Charlie's feet and I thank you."

"I’m a Cavallo customer as long as I own a horse!"

"This is my Mustang, Moreno breaking in his new Cavallo Treks while mowing the yard! :-)

I just wanted to let you know that I ordered and received the Size 3 Slim Trek boots per your suggestion. Yesterday, I did the fit test on my gelding and they are a perfect fit! Popped right on and have no twist from side to side. He has room in the back of the boot which allows the space to add extra protection with Cavallo pastern wraps. The wraps will be wonderful during my Mounted Orienteering competitions where I often ride through streams, clearcut areas and heavy brush during a ride.

Thank you so much for the excellent and prompt customer care that you have provided to me over the last couple of weeks. I had no trouble re-selling the size 2 Trek boots as they only had about 10 miles on them and the gal that bought those was grateful to get an almost new pair at a discount!  I’m a Cavallo customer as long as I own a horse!"

Hello, I am SOOO happy with my Pastern Wraps for Seamus’ BFB Boots!

“Hello, I am SOOO happy with my Pastern Wraps for Seamus’ BFB Boots!

I used the Wraps today for the first time and they were incredible!! Seamus is so comfortable in his boots, and now I don’t have to worry about his bulbs or coronet band being rubbed.

He is feeling more secure in them – I can tell by the way he moves out now at the trot and canter. He is not as hesitant. The Pastern Wraps were the final tweaking we needed – kinda like the difference between wearing running shoes without socks and wearing them with socks.

Thanks again for helping Seamus be comfortable and enjoy his trail rides again. I have recommended the boots to a client of mine with draft X who was just diagnosed with a fractured ringbone and chip for a cushioning effect while it heals.”

Cheers and Stay safe ????

The Ultimate Combo

"I ordered the Trek Boots, Hoof Boot Buckle Straps, Comfort pads, Pastern wraps and the Comfort sleeves.

The boots are very easy to put on and take off. I used the comfort sleeves initally so she can get used to the boots. The boots fit well and had no rubbing or irritation. The pastern wraps are great for added protection. The website video showing how to use the pastern wrap and boots were very helpful and customer help in fitting the wraps was great.

In less than 2 months, I have seen the benefits of improving her sole thickness and far less sensitivity when barefoot. Will continue to use the boots for her daily turnout to protect and improve her feet. THANKS"

Cavallo Pastern Wraps – Sold in Pairs

Cavallo Pastern Wraps provide an additional layer of protection for your horse’s pasterns and heel bulbs when using Cavallo Hoof Boots. Made from soft yet durable neoprene, Cavallo Pastern Wraps help prevent rubbing, chafing, or irritation, especially during the boot break-in period. They can also be used to improve the fit of your horse’s boots or to “snug up” the fit after a fresh trim.

Pastern Wraps are ideal for horses with sensitive skin or those prone to rubbing during longer rides, turnout, or therapy. Designed to fit comfortably under all Cavallo Hoof Boot styles (sizes 0–6), these wraps are easy to apply and secure in place with strong Velcro fastenings. Wrap around the pastern and follow the boot fastening steps below for added comfort and protection. Cavallo Pastern Wraps help prevent small rocks, sand, and debris from entering the boots during arena rides or turnout. They are highly recommended for high-stress boot use, such as barrel racing, jumping, and other demanding activities.

For larger-boned horses or those with generous pasterns, Cavallo recommends sizing up to ensure a secure and comfortable fit.

  • Provides added cushioning and protection against rubbing
  • Helps improve boot fit
  • Easy Velcro fastening system
  • Fits all Cavallo Hoof Boot styles (sizes 0–6)
  • Recommended during the break-in period for new boots
  • Can be used for riding, therapy, or turnout
  • Sold in pairs

How To Use Cavallo Pastern Wraps

Step 1: While your horse is weight-bearing, wrap snugly around the pastern and fasten the main Velcro closure. The fit should be secure but not restrictive, allowing natural movement while providing full coverage.

Step 2: Lift the hoof, and gently tug the wrap down under the heels, ensuring that about ¼–½ inch of the wrap sits under the heel’s weight-bearing points. This helps secure the wrap during movement.

Step 3: With the hoof back on the ground, draw the elastic strap firmly upward at a 45-degree angle, like a sling supporting the heel bulbs. Fasten the elastic Velcro closure securely.

Step 4: Place your horse’s Cavallo Hoof Boot over the pastern wrap and set the hoof back down. Fold down the small red Velcro tab to line up with the boot’s Velcro tongue.

Step 5: Close your boot as usual, and perform a final check of all closures to confirm everything is secure before riding, turnout, or therapy use. Enjoy!

Potential Hydrolysis effect on Cavallo soles

Cavallo Hoof Boot soles are molded in industrial grade TPU (Thermoplastic Urethane). Under certain conditions, this compound may be vulnerable to a chemical reaction known as Hydrolysis. Hydrolysis is a bond breakdown which may occur at least 2 years after production. This happens only when boots are stored in unfavorable conditions and not being used. Hydrolysis may be avoided by ensuring good air ventilation and avoiding humidity over 70%. Keep the storage environment cool and dry with good air circulation. A combination of temperatures as high as 40 Degree Celsius with high moisture content, should be avoided.
Hoof boots that are frequently used in very wet conditions should be allowed to dry before storage and should not be stored in the original box or in areas of poor air circulation. Follow these instructions and your hoof boots will last free of Hydrolysis for many years.
