Featured Testimonial

I have been using Simple boots for three years.   I have two horses, St. Gertrude (aka Sophie) a 20 year old Morgan pony mare, and Side Hill Ranger, a 8 year old 16 hand Morgan gelding.   Both wear Simple Boots in a variety of situations.  We go on picnic drives for training. The first set that I used on Ranger still show little or no wear.  Neither horse's gaits and their stamina is not affected by Simple boots.   Putting them on is indeed simple,  and they stay on.  I use regular shoes for part of the year. The rest of the time, it is simply Simple Boots. Thank you Cavallo for such a great product.

Q: I live in Arizona at the base of the Superstition Mountains.  Our trails are not rough, they are HARD and ROCKY.  Do you believe any horse can transition from shoes to barefoot.  How realistic should we be in our time frame?  I use the Cavallo boots on front......he has always been barefoot on back...it's almost been a year can we start taking off the Cavallos?  The trimmer says he has excellent feet and I should turn off the sympathy button, however if we take a long trail ride my horse is very ouchy on the way home.  What do you think?  Thanks, Lynn  PS, most of my friends have given up already and put shoes back on! Thanks, Lynn Hunter

A: Great to hear that your horse is doing so well.  What I would suggest is to keep the boots off for a small part of the ride at first and gradually increase the length of time.  I don’t think you should turn off the sympathy button.  If you sore your horse it will put you behind in the program.  What sort of terrain is he on when he is not on the trail?  That could play a role; if he is always on soft ground except for during the ride it may be unreasonable to expect him to be sound on a hard rocky trail.
